DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES / CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Reporting to the Director General, the Director, Human Resources / Corporate Affairs is an Officer of the College who works in close collaboration with the Constituent College Directors and the Directors and Coordinators at Champlain Regional College Administrative Services and advises the HR managers at each of the Constituent Colleges. With respect to the responsibilities for Corporate Affairs, the incumbent works with the Director General and the Chair of the Board of Governors in accordance with the College’s bylaws respecting governance.
You are a highly experienced human resources professional who is preferably a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA/CRIA). You have worked in a unionized environment with several different union accreditations, preferably in the public or para-public sector. You are known for the wisdom you have developed throughout your career in dealing with sensitive human resource issues. Your greatest satisfaction comes from sharing your expertise and advice with front-line managers and other HR professionals in their day-to-day interactions with employees and union representatives alike. You are keenly aware of the role of public institutions to be beacons of equity in employment practices and of responsible administration of public funds. You understand the key role of accountability in public administration and you have worked with governance structures that involve stakeholders with varied and sometimes competing interests.
As Director, Human Resources the incumbent is responsible for the following essential human resource functions: payroll and benefits; the classification for salary purposes of all personnel; the adherence of all personnel to group insurance and pension plans; in collaboration with the human resource services in the constituent colleges, the management of CNESST and Mutuelle de prevention dossiers; the employee assistance program; network-wide human resources reporting required under collective agreements or by the government.
As Director, Corporate Affairs the incumbent advises the Director General and the Chair of the Board of Governors on all internal and external legal matters and provides support for the effective functioning of the Board and its various committees including the Executive Committee. Moreover, the Director, Corporate Affairs is the official College respondent under the provisions of the Act respecting Access to Documents Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information (CSRQ ch. A-2.1). .
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Administration with a concentration in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
Graduate studies in a relevant field will be preferred.
Membership in good standing of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés(CRHA/CRIA) will be an asset.
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience, including three (3) years at a management level.
Experience working with a Board of Governors or an equivalent governance structure.
Experience working in a CEGEP would be an asset.

Commensurate with the norms provided by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES) for management Class 9, from $89,034 to $118,709 per annum.
