JOB SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator, Outreach plays a crucial role in expanding the reach of the Townshippers’ Association's workforce development initiatives. This individual is responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing a comprehensive database of English-speaking individuals across the Eastern Townships-Estrie region who can benefit from employment support services. Additionally, the Coordinator will cultivate and maintain a robust database of employers within the Estrie region to facilitate job placements for program participants. This position is vital in connecting job seekers with opportunities and ensuring the economic vitality of the English-speaking Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach and Database Development:

  • Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to identify and engage English-speaking individuals in the Eastern Townships-Estrie region who are seeking employment or career development support.
  • Create, maintain, and regularly update a detailed database of program participants, including their skills, experience, employment goals, and service needs.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to employers across various sectors in the Estrie region to identify job opportunities, understand hiring needs, and build strong relationships.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of employers, including contact information, industry, typical job openings, and any specific hiring preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce and Economic Development Program Manager and Career Counsellors to align outreach efforts with current program offerings and client needs.
  • Promote the Association’s employment assistance services (EAS) programs and resources to potential clients and employers through various channels, including community events, online platforms, and direct communication.
  • Identify and engage with vulnerable populations (youth, seniors, newcomers, women, visible minorities, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals) to ensure equitable access to services.

Program Support and Coordination:

  • Assist in the coordination and organization of outreach events, workshops, and job fairs to connect job seekers with employers and resources.
  • Collect and maintain data related to outreach activities and participant engagement to track progress and inform reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of public-facing materials, ensuring they are bilingual and comply with the Official Languages Act.
  • Provide administrative support to the Workforce and Economic Development Program Manager as required, particularly related to outreach and database management.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall goals of the Workforce and Economic Development program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as community development, human resources, marketing, or social sciences. Other combinations of relevant training and experience will be considered.

 

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, sales, or recruitment, preferably in a non-profit or community setting.
  • Experience in data entry and maintaining databases.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse individuals and groups.

Communication:

  • Advanced proficiency in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with individuals and organizations.
  • Basic presentation skills for small group interactions.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital communication tools for outreach purposes.

Other Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM databases or similar data management systems.
  • Knowledge of the Eastern Townships region and its communities is an asset.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Townshippers’ Association.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required for travel throughout the Eastern Townships-Estrie.
