Join us online on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at 12 noon for a celebration of Quebec’s English-speaking community. Exciting new videos and thought-provoking presentations created by six community groups over the past year will be debuted. These projects, involving hundreds of English-speaking Quebecers of all ages from around the province, were all inspired by the theme of Belonging. Discover how Quebec’s English-speakers see themselves in surprising artistic creations from youth, poignant videos from the Black community, touching interviews with seniors, and much more!
In 2018, the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise surveyed a broad cross-section of Quebec’s English-speaking community and found that English-speakers have mixed feelings about their identity as Quebecers and an ambiguous sense of belonging in the province. The Secretariat funded six community organizations, whose members represent many aspects of the English-speaking community, to create projects about identity and belonging from the point of view of English-speaking Quebecers of different ages and from multiple backgrounds.

Our rich history has shaped us, and our story has been evolving since the very beginnings of our time on this land, as has our identity. We are Quebec’s English speaking communities and these are our stories of then and now.
This COM-Unity Project was made possible through the funding from the Secrétariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise. The project has been managed and coordinated by the Quebec English-Speaking Communities Research Network (QUESCREN) at Concordia University.
