Description: The Bury Historical and Heritage Society presents a Conference on the Military History of

Bury and Its Surroundings followed by a Wartime Style Banquet on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 1

PM to 7 PM. Open to the public, the conference features images, texts and artifacts related to Bury’s

military tradition from 1866 onwards and descriptions of life at the time, how women coped with the

absence or loss of men in their families, and images of some of those who left this community to answer

the call for help. Various lecturers will discuss these events to help today’s generations understand and

appreciate the challenges and sacrifices that have been made. A Banquet that recalls the tastes and
