Well, look no further! Our very own Fannie Gaudette, whose solo career is kicking into high gear with the release of her very first album, will be performing in concert at Centennial Theatre.
To quote Fannie’s press release, “‘L’invention humaine’ is born of the synergy between composer-performer Fannie Gaudette and lyricist Normand Achim. Their poetic and melodic universes overlap to comment on our common humanity in all of its cohesiveness and contradictions.
This first album is both a surprising new foray and the logical progression in the career of a classical musician who has always had an interest in popular music and creativity. With disarming ease and charm on stage, Fannie tugs at heartstrings without artifice. ‘L’invention humaine’ will be presented in its entirety, with a string ensemble and percussion.”
With this debut, Fannie enters a new phase of her musical life. For many years she has been known as the highly respected and well-loved music teacher at Bishop’s University and Champlain College, as well as the piano accompanist (and more recently) director of the Bishop’s University Singers.
Supplementing this already impressive musical background, she branched out into arranging, composing and performing the musical score for numerous Bishop’s Theatre department productions. And now, this! Is there anything she can’t do? Let’s find out together.
Tickets are $30 (or $15 for students, fees included). Purchase at
the Centennial Theatre Box Office by phone (819-822-9692) or online at lepointdevente.com. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
